The company headquarter is located in Moline, Illinois. The company was founded in 1837 by the American blacksmith and industrialist, inventor of the steel plow, John Deere. In 1869, the company gained a status of corporation. In 1907, Deere & Company produced a whole line of steel plows, cultivators, planters and other equipment. In 1918, John Deere begins the production of tractors. During the production start of the 4WD tractors, Deere & Company became an owner of Waterloo Gasoline Engine, manufacturer of Waterloo Boy tractors. In the first year, the company sells 5,634 Waterloo Boy tractors. The company produces agricultural equipment (including tractors, combines, etc.), construction equipment, gardening equipment, snowplows, logging equipment, as well as engines under the John Deere brand (often the company is called John Deere).
